Option 3. Noise Quality Management (1–2 points)

PATH 1. PERFORMANCE PATHWAY (2 POINTS)

Demonstrate that daytime ambient noise levels do not exceed 55 dBa in 90% of the residential

areas with high pollution levels as identified under IPp1: Ecosystem Assessment. Use data within

the last five years.

OR

PATH 2. PRESCRIPTIVE PATHWAY (1 POINT)

Demonstrate compliance with two of the following:

a. Adopt policy promoting low-noise municipal waste collection vehicles and/or

electrification of construction equipment.

b. Develop and implement regulations prohibiting excessive continuous or intermittent noise

from industrial, commercial, and construction activities adjacent to residential areas

through time restrictions.

c. Develop and implement enforcement duties and corrective measures in case of

noncompliance with the regulations.

d. Prepare and maintain a noise map of the city, which is updated every five years,

identifying noise sources factors affecting sound propagation and designating quiet

areas.
