Option 2. Green Building Policy and Incentives (1–2 points)

PATH 1: POLICIES (2 POINTS):

Adopt any one of the following policies:

a. Policy requiring all city-occupied new construction and major renovations greater than 25,000

square feet (2,323 square meters) to achieve LEED or an equally stringent green building

certification.

b. Policy requiring all private residential and/or nonresidential new construction and major

renovations greater than 25,000 square feet (2,323 square meters) to achieve LEED or an

equally stringent green building certification.

c. Policy requiring all existing private residential and nonresidential buildings greater than 25,000

square feet (2,323 square meters) to achieve LEED or an equally stringent green building

certification.

AND/OR

PATH 2: INCENTIVES (1–2 POINTS):

Provide two of the following incentives for project pursuing/achieving LEED or an equally stringent green

building certification. Each incentive is worth 1 point:

a. Expedited review or permitting processes.

b. Density and/or height bonus allowing for percentage increases in floor area ratio or other

measures of density contingent upon achieving certification.

c. Tax credits contingent upon achieving certification.

d. Permitting fee reductions or waivers.

AND/OR

Option 3. Sustainable Lands Certification (1 point)

PATH 1: PERFORMANCE PATHWAY (1 POINT):

Demonstrate that 10% of city-owned and city-operated parks and open spaces that are more than 2,000

square feet (185 square meters) are registered and/or certified to SITES v2.
