d. Provide voluntary relocation support for at-risk populations residing in hazard-prone areas.

Ensure sufficient infrastructure in destination areas to support relocated populations.

Verify that the key demographic characteristics in the selected priority neighborhood have remained five

percentage points of preintervention levels. Describe the process used to engage these neighborhoods in

reducing exposure.

Option 2. Implementation of New Interventions (1 point)

Implement a new environmental hazard mitigation policy in at least one priority neighborhood identified in

IPp2 Human Impact Assessment. The policy must address at least one prioritized risk identified in IPp4

Resilience Assessment and include stakeholder engagement processes, formal anti-displacement

measures, and metrics for evaluating future impacts.

Option 3. Heat Stress Reduction (2 points)

PATH 1. TREE EQUITY (2 POINTS)

Evaluate the tree canopy coverage for the city and identify census blocks ranked by the tool as

high and highest priority. Demonstrate at least 10% improvement in canopy cover in the reporting

year from a user-defined baseline year for any two priority neighborhoods identified in IPp2:

Human Impact Assessment that overlap at least 50% of the area of the high and highest-priority

census blocks. The selected baseline year must fall within the last five years.

OR

PATH 2. HEAT ISLAND REDUCTION (2 POINTS)

Identify urban heat island hotspots within the city. Select any two priority neighborhoods identified

in IPp2: Human Impact Assessment that overlap at least 50% of the area of one or more of the

identified urban heat island hotspots. Meet one of the following requirements in these

neighborhoods:

a. Adopt strategies to mitigate the heat island effect such as increasing tree canopy, using

cool roofs/pavements/green roofs, and increasing permeable/vegetated surfaces.

b. Establish heat wave response actions that reduce exposure and health impacts during

extreme heat such as early warning systems, provision of cooling shelters, public

hydration and shade, and worker protection policies.
