Option 1. Lead Service Line Replacement (2 points)
Implement a lead service line replacement program that inventories and discloses all suspected public
lead service lines on a publicly searchable database.
a. The program must include a comprehensive plan to replace lead service pipes within a
designated time frame and an awareness campaign around the dangers of lead exposure in
children.
b. Low-income residents with suspected lead supply lines must be provided with low-cost or no-cost
test kits, along with water filters and/or alternative water sources, until replacement is complete.

Option 2. Modernized Infrastructure (2 points)
Demonstrate the city’s commitment to replacing inefficient, aging, or unsafe water infrastructure while
fortifying it against severe weather impacts by achieving one of the following requirements:
a. For locales with combined sewer systems, implement diversion systems or combined pipe
separation plans that would prevent future overflows based on 100-year storm events.
b. Demonstrate that advanced wastewater treatment facilities and practices have been used to
ensure all the city’s treated water surpasses standard practice.
c. Adopt an automated water supply management system that supports real-time data analysis,
water pressure and quality monitoring, leak detection, and regular water audits.
