Option 2. Stormwater Management Policy and Planning (1 point)

Adopt and implement city-wide policy, plan, and/or ordinance that prioritizes green stormwater

infrastructure for new construction projects.

Include two of the following:

a. Require preparation of a stormwater management plan for significant development and

redevelopment activities.

b. Ensure support through a manual that establishes criteria, specifications, and recommended

practices when planning, designing, and constructing regulated sites and green stormwater

infrastructure within the city.

c. Minimum stormwater management control requirements and low-impact development

standards/practices to mimic predevelopment runoff conditions by managing the first 1.5 inches

of precipitation using infiltration, evapotranspiration, and rainwater harvesting. Captured rainwater

should be reused on-site to the maximum extent possible and allowable by local ordinance.

d. Requirement to implement integrated green stormwater infrastructure on city-owned buildings,

parking lots, parks, streets, and other facilities to demonstrate effectiveness and performance to

developers, citizens, and other relevant parties.

e. Provision of incentives for implementing on-site and off-site green stormwater infrastructure.

f. Dedicated funding for green stormwater infrastructure project implementation.
