repurposed materials while strengthening city-wide waste service resilience.

Comply with any combination of the following options for a maximum of 2 points.
Option 1. Sustainable Construction Procurement Policy (1 point)
Demonstrate that the city has adopted a sustainable construction procurement policy applicable to city owned construction, major renovation, and infrastructure projects with a construction budget exceeding
$1M (USD). The policy must include one of the following provisions:
a. Allocate ≥5% of the total materials budget to reused/reclaimed products and/or materials.
b. Allocate ≥10% of the total materials budget to products with third-party-verified EPDs that
demonstrate below industry average embodied carbon for their product category.
c. Include completion of a whole-building life cycle assessment (WBLCA) as part of the project
scope and budget, consistent with LEED BD+C v5 MRc2 Reduce Embodied Carbon.
AND
Commit to publishing an annual report that summarizes the city’s sustainable construction purchasing
activities and includes quantified impact metrics demonstrating outputs and outcomes.
